Labour Shadow Secretary for Energy and Climate Change visits the camp

Labour visit

Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change Barry Gardiner visited Leith Hill Protection Camp on Thursday 22nd February, together with Marc Green, Labour candidate for Mole Valley.

They stayed for over an hour and talked to camp members and local residents about their concerns about acidisation, water pollution, air pollution, industrialisation of the Weald, climate change, and the impact on road users including horse riders.

It was encouraging to hear that Barry believes that all new unconventional oil and gas exploration should be banned, with a focus on green jobs instead.
